The B1 license is a popular driver’s license in our country, similar to the B2 license. To prepare for the B1 exam, it is important to understand the cars you can drive and the registration process.
What is a B1 driver’s license?
A B1 license refers to a driver’s license for operating B1 class vehicles. A B1 driver’s license allows individuals to drive passenger cars with 9 seats or fewer (including the driver’s seat) and trucks with a maximum load capacity of less than 3.5 tons.
The B1 license restricts the driver’s involvement in traffic solely for personal reasons, prohibiting any practice driving or utilization of the vehicle for business or commercial activities.
A B1 driver’s license grants you permission to operate the following categories of vehicles:
- Automatic cars carry up to 9 people (including the driver’s seat).
- Regular trucks, tractors or specialized automatic trucks with a design tonnage of less than 3,500 kg.
- Licensed cars are reserved for people with disabilities.
Individuals possessing a B1 license are eligible to elevate their driving privileges to a B2 license, provided they have accumulated a minimum of one year of driving experience and have safely covered a distance of at least 12,000 km.
Comparisons and contrasts of B1 and B2 degrees.
The B1 and B2 licenses are both types of driving licenses that permit the operation of passenger cars with a seating capacity of 9 or fewer, including the driver’s seat.
On the other hand, a B2 license grants you the ability to drive both manual and automatic transmission vehicles and engage in transportation businesses, unlike a B1 license which does not permit these activities.
The B1 license has an extended duration of validity, whereas the B2 license is valid for 10 years from the date of issuance. Consequently, individuals who continue to use a B2 license after its expiration must apply for a new one from the competent authority.
