The Mercedes-Benz GLS luxury car has the ability to “dance” on the road thanks to a support feature known as Free Driving Assist (FDA).
In 2019, the renowned luxury car manufacturer from Germany introduced a new feature as an option in their Electronic Body Control System (E-Active Body Control) package. This package, which is priced at approximately $6,500, comes as standard equipment in two top-of-the-line models of Mercedes-Benz, namely GLE and GLS.
The German car company aims to assist drivers in easily getting out of mud and quicksand by equipping the car with the Free Driving Assist (FDA) feature.
The FDA is able to easily raise and lower the vehicle body using pneumatic forks, due to the operating principle.
In order to activate this feature, the driver should follow these steps: Turn on Offroad driving mode, select Settings, go to Assistance, choose Offroad Assist, and finally, click on Start. To deactivate this feature, the driver simply needs to click on “Stop”.
The FDA function is operational only if the vehicle has big wheels, measuring 20 inches or more, and is moving at speeds below 9 miles per hour (approximately 15 kilometers per hour).
The authentic imported Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 is anticipated to be priced between 12.5 and 14.5 billion VND. It is scheduled to make its return to Vietnam in the third quarter of this year.
