Ducati has created quite a buzz among motorcycle enthusiasts worldwide by revealing its latest model, the Multistrada V4. What sets this bike apart is its claim to be the world’s first high-capacity vehicle featuring advanced radar technology both at the front and rear. This innovative addition aims to enhance the rider’s experience by providing improved ease and safety while operating the motorcycle.

The collaboration between Ducati and Bosch, a leading global technology corporation, has given rise to this innovative radar system. Weighing just 190 grams each and being the size of a typical dash cam, these radars do not add substantial weight or affect the operability and sleek design of the car.

The new front radar on the Multistrada V4 motorcycle will introduce adaptive cruise control technology, which was previously only available in cars. This feature will greatly enhance the bike’s long-distance capabilities. With adaptive cruise control, the Multistrada V4 will be able to automatically adjust its distance from other vehicles while traveling at speeds ranging from 30 to 160 km/h.

Additionally, the rear radar system on the motorcycle will provide a warning to the rider when another vehicle approaches too closely from behind. This advancement is significant for motorcycle safety as traditional rearview mirrors on two-wheeled bikes often have limited visibility due to their layout and size. By incorporating this rear radar system, the Multistrada V4 aims to improve overall safety for motorcyclists by providing an extended, panoramic view for the rider.

Overall, the incorporation of radar technology on the Multistrada V4 by Ducati is poised to be a game-changer, revolutionizing safety in the motorcycle industry. This significant step may pave the way for the widespread adoption of this technology across all types of two-wheeled vehicles, including commonly used models, ultimately ensuring safer travels for riders.

At present, Ducati has yet to disclose further information about the Multistrada V4. All we currently know is that it will be a “super motorcycle” equipped with a new generation V4 engine that is lighter, more compact, and more fuel efficient, while maintaining its top power and performance. The Multistrada V4 is intended to replace the existing Multistrada 1260 series, which uses a V2 engine. Its official launch is scheduled for November 4.
